Originally known as the Hennepin, the Orpheum Theatre opened October 16, 1921 to present live vaudeville acts. Among the performers on the first playbill were the Marx Brothers, with over 70,000 guests attending the opening week run. Renovated in 1993, the first Broadway production in the restored venue was Miss Saigon in January, 1994.

FROM THE EAST
Take I-94 to the 11th Street exit. Go 6 blocks on 11th Street to Hennepin Avenue. Turn right on Hennepin Avenue and go 1 and 1/2 blocks north to the Orpheum Theatre.

FROM THE SOUTH
Take I-35W to the 5th Avenue exit. Go 2 blocks north on 5th Avenue to 9th Street. Turn left on 9th Street and go 6 blocks to Hennepin Avenue. The Orpheum Theatre is located 1/2 block south on Hennepin Avenue.

FROM THE NORTH
Take I-94 to the 4th/7th Street exit. Follow 4th street, and turn right on First Avenue N. Turn left on 10th Street, go one block and turn left on Hennepin Avenue. The theatre is on your left.

Take I-35W to the Washington Avenue exit. Take Washington Avenue towards downtown, and turn left on 3rd Avenue S. Take a right turn on 9th Street and follow it to Hennepin Avenue. The theatre is on your left when you get to Hennepin Avenue.

FROM THE WEST
Take I-394 to either the Target Center A ramp or Target Center B ramp exit. From ramp A the Orpheum Theatre is 4 blocks south and two blocks east. From ramp B it is 2 blocks south and two blocks east.

Accessibility

Please call the Box Office for more information on accessibility at 612.339.7007. State Box Office Hours: Mon–Fri 10am – 6pm, Sat Noon –3pm, Sun Closed. The Orpheum and Pantages Theatres’ Box Offices are open day of show, 2 hours prior to performance time. The Box Offices at the State, Orpheum, and Pantages Theatres are open before and through the intermission of all performances. One hour prior to each performance, the Box Office only assists requests for that performance.

PARKING
There is ample parking for The Orpheum in the area. There are flat lots on the corner of 10th Street and Hennepin Avenue. The Hawthorne Ramp is connected via skyway to the Orpheum Theatre. There are also parking ramps located at Daytons, LaSalle Plaza, Target Center or municipal ramps all within easy walking distance of the theatre.
