INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Broadway Across America - Indianapolis is thrilled to announce a blockbuster 2008-2009 season including AVENUE Q, Disney’s THE LION KING, HAPPY DAYS, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG and Broadway’s biggest blockbuster WICKED. “This is one of the biggest seasons that we've ever presented,” says Leslie K. Broecker, President of Broadway Across America – Midwest. “WICKED is one of our most requested shows, so we're very pleased to have it as the grand finale to this incredibly diverse season. All but one of the shows is brand new, with the revival being our first return of Disney’s THE LION KING.” Season tickets go on sale Friday, May 2.

AVENUE Q opens the Broadway Across America – Indianapolis season at Clowes Memorial Hall, October 14 – 19, 2008. AVENUE Q is Broadway's smash-hit 2004 Tony Award® winner for BEST MUSICAL, BEST SCORE and BEST BOOK. A hilarious show full of heart and hummable tunes, AVENUE Q is about trying to make it in NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. Called "one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see" by Entertainment Weekly, AVENUE Q features a cast of people and puppets who tell the story in a smart, risqué and downright entertaining way. The New Yorker calls it "SUBVERSIVE and UPROARIOUS!" Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Experience the phenomenon of Disney’s THE LION KING when Indianapolis’s best-loved musical makes a triumphant return to the Murat Theatre following its record-breaking 2004 engagement! Marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of animals brought to life by award-winning director Julie Taymor, whose visual images for this show you’ll remember forever. Thrill to the pulsating rhythms of the African Pridelands and an unforgettable score including Elton John and Tim Rice’s Oscar-winning song “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and “Circle of Life.” Let your imagination run wild when the Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation returns to the Murat stage, November 19 – December 28, 2008.

Goodbye gray skies, hello blue! Happy days are here again with Richie, Potsie, Ralph Malph and the unforgettable "king of cool" Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli. Based on the hit Paramount Pictures' television series, HAPPY DAYS – A New Musical reintroduces one of America's best loved families, the Cunninghams, and the days of 1959 Milwaukee complete with varsity sweaters, hula hoops, and jukebox sock-hoppin'. The famed drive-in malt shop and number one hang-out, Arnold's, is in danger of demolition, so the gang teams up to save it with a dance contest and tv-worthy wrestling match. HAPPY DAYS – A New Musical has a book by the legendary Garry Marshall. Music and Lyrics by Oscar winning composer Paul Williams. Directed by Gordon Greenberg. Music Arrangements and Music Supervision by John McDaniel. Choreographed by Michele Lynch. In association with McCoy Rigby Entertainment, Robert Boyett Theatricals will proudly launch the North American Tour of HAPPY DAYS - A New Musical at La Mirada Theatre on September 12, 2008. This perfectly family-friendly musical will have you rockin' and rollin' the week of January 13 – 18, 2009 at Clowes Memorial Hall.

The enthralling adventure of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, the magical car that sails the seas and flies through the air, has been a family favorite since the original motion picture captivated the world’s imagination in 1968. Chitty's eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts, and his children, Jemima and Jeremy, join the Truly Scrumptious and kooky Grandpa Potts in outwitting the dastardly Baron and Baroness of Vulgaria in their attempt to steal the flying car for themselves. Sensational sets, stunning special effects, an irresistible story, and an unforgettable Sherman Brothers score, including memorable classics like “Truly Scrumptious”, “Hushabye Mountain” and, of course, the Oscar®-nominated title song, all add up to a Broadway blockbuster the whole family will love. CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG flies into Clowes Memorial Hall April 28 – May 3, 2009.

SO MUCH HAPPENED BEFORE DOROTHY DROPPED IN. Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for “the most complete and completely satisfying new musical in a long time” (USA Today). On Broadway and around the world, WICKED has worked its magic on critics and audiences alike. Winner of 15 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, WICKED is “Broadway’s biggest blockbuster” (The New York Times). WICKED will make its long-awaited, much- anticipated Indianapolis debut June 3 – 21, 2009.
